Shocks, springs, bushes and steering components — diagnosed, replaced and checked.

Air-con re-gassing, repairs and servicing.
Belt and hose replacement, exhaust repairs and replacements.
Working on an electric car's high-voltage system isn't something a garage can just have a go at — it takes formal training and certification. Alaster holds the IMI Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components and the IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement. Bridge Mill Garage is equipped for:
Coolant, cabin filters, brake fluid, suspension and high-voltage system inspection — to the manufacturer's schedule.
A measured state-of-health report: real usable capacity against original spec. Worth having before buying or selling a used EV.
Warning lights, charging faults and reduced-power modes investigated and diagnosed.
Home charge point installation arranged for customers across East Lancashire.
Bridge Mill Garage has been servicing and repairing vehicles in Nelson for years, backed by 35 years of mechanical experience. Petrol and diesel work hasn't gone anywhere — servicing, brakes, tyres, suspension and air-con are still the day job.
What's new is the training. As more electric cars arrive in East Lancashire, Alaster went back to college and earned his IMI Level 3 and Level 4 electric/hybrid vehicle qualifications, so EV owners have a local, independent option instead of a trip to a main dealer.
Thanks to Alaster my car's air-conditioning is nice and ice cold. I'm very happy with the level of service I received and the price was great value.
My car was running a bit rough so I popped it down to them for a full service and she's running perfect again. Very happy with the service and price. Cheers.

Yes. We're qualified for high-voltage work and offer EV servicing, battery health checks and diagnostics — alongside everything we've always done for petrol and diesel.
We don't run the MOT test itself, but we prepare cars for MOT — a full pre-MOT check with any work needed done beforehand, so your car goes in ready to pass rather than in to find out.
No. Out of warranty, a main dealer is entirely your choice — and even in warranty, independent servicing to the manufacturer's schedule doesn't void it. Independents typically cost considerably less.
Yes. Fewer moving parts than a petrol car, but brakes, tyres, suspension, coolant, cabin filters and the high-voltage battery all need regular attention — and a documented service history protects the car's value.
